diva (dee-vuh,-vah) - noun

A diva is a distinguished female singer; prima donna.

The origin of the word goes back to 1880–85, from the Italian word diva, meaning "goddess or fine lady."

So, a diva has to be a distinguished female singer? or is that straight from the dictionary? Because I know a couple guys who call themselves diva's, they can sing, but not very distinguished, heehee. Love yer blog and word of the day Jinxi!
